How absurd?

(warning this post is completely about cycling)

I know you have all been reading about "Operation Puerto". 58 cyclists are supposedly listed in a 500+ page police report on a doping ring. Fine. Whatever. Just don't ruin what is destined to be the best Tour de France in 10 years. Now what do the heads of international cycling do?

Jan Ulrich out of the Tour! Ivan Basso out of the Tour! (not by choice mind you) And countless others to be named soon!!! Dudes, you just ruined the Tour. We all know that pro riders dope except Lance (<-- that was a joke.) Quit living in fantasy land. Don't ruin my Tour de France.

So what do I suggest we as cycling fans do? I am taking myself out of the tour!!!

No watching it OLN when I get home! No reading it live on cyclingnews.com. No reading it on velonews. Unless the situation changes between now and the tour start, I am officially out of the 2006 Tour de France. See you next year.

BTW. Partying in Virginia Beach for a few days. Be back for the 4th. Stay sexy.

2 - 0

As far as running races go this Summer, I am currently 2 wins 0 losses versus my boy Matt.

In the first 5k race, I decided to go the soul stealing pass at the 2 mile marker. He actually turned around and saw me running about 10 yards behind. It was at that point that I knew I had to pass him. So I quickly passed him and then pulled off the old cycling manuever of trying to get as far away as possible from him. It worked well enough.

This time I just started out faster than he did and ran scared the rest of the way. He told me before the race he was gonna just tail me the whole time and try to out kick me. I don't think he saw me take off in the start. At the end of the race, he said he thought he was leading the whole time. Considering he had a fan in the stands, you would of thunk that he would know where I am. It ended up being a pretty epic 5k. It has been raining for days. It rained during the whole race, and it was on fairly hilly cross country course. FUN STUFF. (and it should be noted that two certain someones wussed out.)

Thinking about doing the Tour de France BBQ either July 3rd or July 4th. I'll let you all know.

End of a weekend wrap up

1) Congrats to Jan. Winning the Tour de Suisse! Next The Tour, and sealing your fate as one of the greatest cyclists ever.

2) Entourage. Best show T.V. hands down. Granted it is about the only show I watch right now so I don't have much to compare it to. Does it get any better then when Ari screams, "Loyd!!!"

3) Daddy needs some sleep.

Ode to the Morning Cup of Coffee

It occurs to me where I might be without my morning cup of coffee. No morning is complete and no day has begun without it. The focus and motivatioin that this cup gives me is priceless. I could wallow in endless inefficency watching television and wondering what I might do with the day on any given Saturday morning. But once that beautiful misty cup of black coffee touches my lips from inside the glimmering white mug, the fog that was confusing my mind is lifted and the entire world appears before me with infinite clariy. With the comfort and reassurance of a warm blanket, the coffee hits my stomach. I am myself again. So thank you, coffee. You have created life, every morning.

So . . .

Today a girl told me that I wasn't big enough of a dork for her. ( Add a comment with the joke you would insert here. eg. "Apparently she has never read this blog." )

which by the way, she hasn't.

This weeks mission

So this week's mission is to try and find a new car. Most of my friends know I am more talk than action when it comes to buying a car.

The problem is that somehow driving a 97 green escort wagon suits me just fine, because it is a car that I don't have to care about.

You spill coffee in the back seat. No problem.
You get a little bike grease in the trunk. No Problem.
You have a hot date. Well maybe thats a problem.
One headlight doesn't work. No Problem.

So, I'll test driving some cars and hopefully I'm not all talk.

Atlantic City

I was in A.C. all weekend. Yup, another bachelor party! Did more partying than gambling, but got a healthy portion of both. I'll try to write more about it later. . . . . good times

On Demand Blogging

I've been told it is time to blog, and who am I to deny my fans.

Invasion of the bees. So I have 5 bees nests between the inside wall and the oustide wall. I spent a half hour outside my condo staring at all different kind of bees going in and out their individual nests.

So I fought through my moral dilema of killing bees versus the whole environment thing for a day. But then, a giant carpenter bee wiggled its way into my condo. Well, that pretty much sealed their fate. The next day I called the condo people to take care of the problem.

The next day, I'm looking at the wall. No more bees!! Great! or so I think. . . .

The problem is I can still hear the bees! At night bees hang out in their nest and if you listen carefully you can hear them moving around. It usually sounds like a scratching noise from inside the wall. In fact, as I wrote this I've heard the scratching noise twice. I'm expecting the bees to plan a surprise attack anyday, just when I have reached a certain level of comfort. I should have learned my lesson from Jurassic Park. Nature always wins.
